The term "dry" is unofficial, but generally means wines have less than 1% sweetness or 10 g/L of residual sugar.

Residual sugar in red wine comes from unfermented grape sugar, not added sugar.

Many fine red wines have 0% sweetness or 0 g/L of RS on a tech sheet.
